Turn left on “Well” and bring right arm up with hand up; then bring arm down with a flip of the hand downward on the word “never.”

I never wink back at fireflies
Cock left shoulder forward and back on “wink back” then flip finger with thumb on “fire flies” (first right hand, then left hand)

But now that the stars are in your eyes
Bring both arms down in front of you with hands up.

I’m beginning to see the light, the light.

Turn slightly to left and move right-hand starting at shoulder height in downward motion on “lights down low.”

CHORUS (1st time)

            Now I used to ramble through the park
Left hand level with floor in front on you and lean left. (Plant hand on “used”)

            Shadow boxing in the dark
Right hand level with floor in front on you and lean right. (Plant hand on “shadow”)

            Then you came and caused a spark
Bring both hands up shoulder height and flip them facing out with fingers spread on “spark.”

             That’s a four-alarm fire now.
Press open hands at side of head facing forward and use shoulders in 3 beats on four
alarm  fire   now  starting with right shoulder.

            No I never made love by lantern shine
Bring hands down on “No I” and just stay involved in the music.

Turn on slide and walk left two steps forward starting on the downbeat BEFORE the word “used,” then two steps back.

            Shadow boxing in the dark
Turn back forward on basses “shadow” and do a short boxing jab with left fist on “box” and with right fist on “ing”; then left thumb at nose on “in the” and extended right arm forward with closed fist (mimic a boxing punch) on “dark.”

            Then you came and caused a spark that’s a four-alarm fire now.  WOW!
Bring both hands up shoulder height and flip them facing out with fingers spread on the appropriate word for your ROW....

Turn body slightly to the right on “in my” and mimic drinking from a wineglass (tip head back a little, but keep face/eyes forward) on “wine.”

Move shoulders separately forward and back with each emphasis onbur hur ning mine

Reach right hand out diagonal to the right
above head looking in that direction

Right hand out diagonal to the right at shoulder height looking in that direction (but keeping an eye on Lynnell); then drop right hand to bent right knee and drop head on the vocal fall off of “light” AFTER Director Lynnell has cut us off.

4.      Freeze pose

5.      Soft to loud twice

6.      High hands – lean back

7.      Start soft on syncopation, then build to mp and ff

8.      Sell with energy through the end of the song

Ad lib movement – lots of energy!

Baby, baby it looks like it’s gonna hail.  Bop Bop. . .

Split move to center – step/lean out on “Baby” with outside shoulder turned toward center of chorus (keeping face forward looking over shoulder).  Step back into place on "Bop, Bop"

Baby, baby it looks like it’s gonna hail.  Bop Bop. . .

Repeat above move.

You better come inside and let me show ya how to Jive.  Bop Bop. . .   Oh

SELL ! !   Ad lib move on “come inside”

Ya gotta Jump, Jive, an then you wail.  (Repeat 5 times) . . .   away, wail away.

Lift and set hands at chest level on the rest after “Ya gotta,” then smoothly move hands Right to Left on " jump, jive and wail" – like a stream.  Re-set hands with a slight lift each time you start a new direction.  Bring hands up and down on the last “wail away.”

            1st freeze pose on “woman”

Well now – you know a woman is a woman and a man ain’t nothin’ but a… Oh yea he’s just a low-down man.

But there is one thing about him, he knows how to jump and wail….. and wail

        3rd freeze pose on “one thing.”

 Circle outside shoulder from front to back on basses “with love’s” desire.  Come out of pose on “Oh” with ad lib exaggerated hands move

 [Front row: Moves back into place at the risers.]

 Ad lib in character on “You beautiful doll.”  Bring outside arm/hand across body to inside shoulder on “great big” (land on “great”) then spread outside arm open on “beau” of “beautiful doll.”

 Peel off from R to L.  Circle right arm up and over and place finger tips to top of thighs (facing toward left) on the words: Let.(yes) let.arms..about

Go into groups (vignettes) and stay there in character on “Oh you beautiful, great big beautiful doll.”  [Lynnell will cut everyone off except the basses, who continue to hold “doll”]   Stay in vignette until “LOVIN” and then stand up and take outside arm to inside shoulder on the slide of “…IN.”  Open and drag arm in front of body slowly on the final “DOLL.”  (Plant on the “D” of doll)  Hold arm up and out until Lynnell cuts us off….. then, on her cue, lift and bring arm down to side and face audience for applause.)
 

Twist & Shout
"Down at the Twist and Shout"

             “Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na”
Start on right foot and keep time by stepping in place and swinging arms up and down bent at the elbows.

             “Dut dut da da da da dut.
Step out with right foot and stop with arms at side on the first “Dut” (restate body); then bring left foot in next to right foot with a stomp on the last “dut” before the two (2) claps.

             “It’s Saturday night and the moon in out”
Step two (2) times to the left raising and lowering left arm shoulder height and bent at the elbow on “Saturday” and “moon.”

             “I wanna head on over to the Twist and Shout”
Step two (2) times to the right raising and lowering right arm in a hitch-hiker motion with thumb out on “head” and “Twist.” (you should be back to your original place on the riser)

            “Find a two-step partner”
Bend knees a little; take outside arm and sweep it across to your waist and take a short bow, leaving your head up and facing slightly toward the audience (we don’t want to lose our sound)

             “and a Cajun beat”
Lean back a little with knees bent on “Cajun” then clap inside hands with your partner in a“high 5” motion on the word “beat.”

             “When it lifts me up”
Raise up on balls of feet on “lifts” and pivot back forward lifting shoulders with arms loosely at sides.  Land on “up.”

             “I’m gonna find my feet.”
Put fists on hips and step out with outside foot and touch your heel down on “find” and back on “feet.”  (Front row crosses other foot when they bring their foot back, and touches toe on “feet”) 

             “Out in the middle of a big dance floor”
Bend both knees in a slight squat and gracefully sweep right arm out and to the right (hand up) for the entire phrase.

             “when I hear that fiddle”
Put left hand at left ear on “hear” with hand open and thumb out, leaning a little to the left with left knee bent, right knee straight and right hip out.  (Front row mimics playing a fiddle with an up/down/up right-hand motion)

            “wanna beg for more.”
Stand back up in chorus position clasping hands together chest level and bend knees slightly on “beg” then stand up and bring hands forward and to sides on "for more".

             “Wanna dance to a bank from Lou-zee-ann tonight.”
Keep time in place starting with right foot on “dance” with left hand on stomach and right arm up to a square to mimic dancing, stopping on “tonight” before the claps and stomps. 

Soloist (Jeanie) steps forward to mic (if there is one) to sing 1st verse.
Chorus maintains eye contact with the audience and sings -ooh- behind Jeanie’s solo, staying involved by continuing to move body to keep time and using fun facial expression.  (Use your eyes and face toexpress the words Jeanie is singing)

             “And it’s Saturday night.......”
Repeat above choreography for chorus.

Quartet steps forward to mic (if there is one) to sing 2nd verse.
Chorus does not -ooh-, but continues to stay involved in the song by keeping time with body and fun facial expressions relating to the words quartet is singing.

             “Na na na na na na na. Tonight!
Stay straight with arms at side through the “na na’s” – use head and face for expression and movement.  Split move on “Tonight!” – take outside arm and bend across body to opposite shoulder then flip it out and up with open hand.
